Set Tour 1.0

Set Tour offers an interactive augmented reality experience that plunges users into movie sets while members of the production team provide insights into their work. This application is developed by THE THIRD FLOOR, a visualization powerhouse renowned for its work on blockbusters from Marvel, Disney, Lucasfilm, and other major studios, in collaboration with American Cinematographer, the esteemed journal of the American Society of Cinematographers.

American Cinematographer, operating for nearly a century, is a well-known and highly regarded industry publication that focuses on the technical and artistic aspects of filmmaking. This partnership aims to present a series of immersive explorations into the sets of some of the world's most cinematic feature films.

In this inaugural edition, users are transported to the set of Disney's live-action musical, Beauty and the Beast, to delve into the creation of the iconic "Be Our Guest" sequence. Users have the opportunity to toggle between insights from cinematographer Tobias Schliessler, ASC, theatrical lighting designers Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer, and Virtual Production Supervisor for THE THIRD FLOOR Casey Schatz.

As these experts discuss their craft and share behind-the-scenes knowledge, users can interact with and explore a 3D model of the set using augmented reality technology developed by THE THIRD FLOOR specifically for this production, featuring exclusive new animations created for this application.
